First timers

Hello all, Mags and Spook here. We are pretty much novice travellers, road trips. We are planning a trip to Wooleen Station W.A. in April. All helpful information on best route from Mullewa would be most appreciated. We are travelling from Bakers Hill to Mullewa, staying there one night. So basically from there to Wooleen Station any advice and information pls... Thanks in advance. We will be travelling in a Colorado 4x4

Welcome to the gang Mags, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I can't say much about the 'wild west' as not ventured over from the east, YET.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

You might want to go straight up to Murchison Roadhouse and fill up the just backtrack a few ks

If not just turn right at Twin Peaks road and cant go wrong.......

All the roads should be fine unless there has been a lot of rain and therefore a slower journey of course.

If you are not used to dirt roads take it slow till you get used to them

Enjoy your trip

plus this link tells you much more

Crikey Dougwe............ you havent been over here yet........come get yourself together and commit.......of course to really enjoy you will need 18 months minimum

DO IT....

btw the roads in WA ARE GREAT....... especially the dirt ones...... usually less traffic and nice and dusty :)

Hi mags and spooks welcome to the forum how much time do you have and do you free camp?
- some good spots on the way to wooleen (which is a nice stay) camping on the murchison river at ballinyoo bridge is magnificent especially round that time of year regards chooknphil

And it's welcome from us two 2 having been to WA in 1976 and worked at Mullewa at the tender age of 19 I do know where it is, however we flew to Perth two years ago and hired a car for two weeks I revisited the old hunting ground and couldn't even find the farm I worked on, so I'm not going to be much help giving directions am I (and we went to town every second night for another slab of beer too )

Give the station a bell when you are approaching the area. They should know the better road to take. To save backtracking you may also consider taking one road in and the other out (if the station people say they are much the same quality.)
