Do you know what I've noticed this time across the Nullarbor (and I've been out here over a month)? The lack of trucks!!! I reckon that we're having that much OS stuff come into ports, that the only trucking is being done between ports and suburban centres.
The slip into 3rd world globalisation.
I have spent too much time over the past few months up and down the Newell Hwy.
If ya wanna see trucks Grubby, do the Newell.
Wall to wall and often in groups of three or four and every overnight 'truck' rest stop has at least four tucked up resting.
edit: PS - given the inflation rate, despite the 'lack of confidence' etc and other 'slow' indicators, RBA will be loath to lower the interest rate any further as it will likely further fuel the housing market which is very 'heated' at the moment.
Most economists feel the rate will remain unchanged Tuesday week.
cheers - John

Once again I'm with you on this one John, no change to interest rates in the near future.
We're confident that interest rates will remain the same for now, with a small rise towards the end of this year. That's what the financial gurus are predicting in their long range forecasts, but who knows, we live in turbulent times! If you're worried about a .25% decrease in rates you probably should have stayed at work longer.

No, just a realist. Retirement should be a laid back time of one's life without worrying about little hiccups like a slight change in interest rates. Enjoy.

I think any movement in interest rates going forward will be determined by what happens in the US. The markets have responded positively to Trump so my money is on interest rates rising. We need to get our manufacturing up and running.
