First post, and not exactly sure this is the best place to share one experience we've had of working our way around Australia - but we'd like to recommend Carnarvon WA!!
Carnarvon is a really nice town, we came in November and the winds have kept the place pretty cool [haven't even needed the fans at night for the most part]. There is so much to see and do and you don't even have to travel very far from town to find the amazing seascapes & countryside There is also a great deal of history in this region too, with museums and the likes to help you reflect on years gone by.
You can also get work if you want, we started working part time at Carnarvon Cleaning Services two days after we came to town. Yes the work is hot and sticky, but Margaret Seaton is happy to employ mature travellers and even provided a site at her house for our rig at a cost much less than we would have had to pay at a caravan park!!
We're heading off soon, a whole lot fitter than we were in November, and we'll be recommending Carnarvon as a place to visit, to everyone we talk to, whether you want to work or not.
Thanks for your post Robyn and welcome to the best forum around. When I head off on my big lap I want to pick up some w**k if available so appreciate your info.
Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum is on my bucket list. Appreciate your opinion? (assuming you went there)
You're welcome to the info We went up to the Space & Technology Museum and had a fantastic afternoon. My recommendation for that is allow a 'few hours' and be adventurous, definitely take the flight to the 'moon'
