Allo 'Allo! actor Gorden Kaye dies aged 75

Gorden Kaye, the star of the British sitcom 'Allo 'Allo!, has died in a British care home aged 75.

Gorden Kaye playing Rene Artois

Kaye played the put-upon cafe owner Rene Artois on the hit show, which ran for 10 years from 1982.

Kaye had minor roles in other British sitcoms including Are You Being Served?, but it was 'Allo 'Allo! which gave him his big break.

I will say this only one! He'll be sadly missed. What a great comedy show it was.

Wonderful series and a much underrated actor imo.  Lucky to have lived this long since his major accident in 1990.

Wonder if they'll do the eulogy in all of the different accents, although I wonder how mangled it would get by the 'idiotic british policeman'

I do hope they will re-release the DVD's of the series as we didn't get the full set.

Sadly missed

They're all available from JB Hifi. We've got the lot.
