Your road trips in your NewAge Wallaby poptop

Hi,

Looking forward to Adelaide caravan show in a month or so, and will look closely at a 16 foot Wallaby poptop with ensuite.

i am wondering if members with this model have some feedback on your van after an extended trip.

I would appreciate some firsthand feedback on good (and bad points if appropriate). I am interested in this van because of the intelligent layout, and inclusion of an ensuite.

I love free camping, and hope this might be the perfect choice for me. I tow with an NP Pajero auto 3.2 DiD.

Thank you for your input and unbiased advice, Barry

PS,

Would you recommend ducted under bed aircon ? (noisy rattler/efficient at floor level ??)

Does the included tv antenna work as expected ?

Hello bazzle22,

Looks to be a nice van, we like the layout. It's very similar to our Jayco 14.44.5 OB, but your model it a bit longer. the ensuite in ours has been utlilised on those trips to the outback. We found we can spend 4-5 days off the grid quite easily

We find it great for free camping

Hi

If you are on FB there is a New Age Owners Group with a lot of Wallaby owners who may be able to answer your questions.

Just don't get confused with New Age Owners Group Australia as they don't have as many members although it is also a good group.

Hi Bazzle, more than happy with my van,had it for 9 months now and been in some rugged off road areas with it and no issues evident. The ensuite is great and makes the people I go camping with very envious. The underbed a,con is not overly noisy and doesn't annoy me but I ama heavy sleeper. It would be great if a outlet was above the bed though and I am looking at modifications to see if I can make this happen. The only thing I didn't like and I didt think about at the time was the twin water tanks were joined as one with only 1 filler point so I have modified so I can fill either tank seperatly. This also isolates them if 1 gets damaged some how,i wont loose all my water.Only warrenty issues was with cable in van for rear camera and this was fixed quickly with no arguments and great support from Safety Dave in Melbourne who supplied the unit, they even sent a test camers over which they let me keep. You will find the Adelaide team very helpful, honest and friendly. The tv and aerial have always worked ok in areas where you get normal tv signals but I use it more for vids or playing the days trips back from the dash cam.Mine also has a underfloor diesel heater fitted which works great on cold mornings-reach over, turn it on,10 mins later get out of bed to a warm van.I tow with a gq patrol diesel at 95kms for best economy, van has irs and stability control and tows beautifully and not affected by side winds or passing trucks etc.If your in Adelaide and want a look at mine after 9 monthes of use let me know, cheers Brian
