Are they still advertising??.
If they have. and your friends didn't pay HIM for the car hire.

DOn't worry. Just go anyway. It's just the one road\track. GPS will take you.
do a lot of reading b4you go and be sensible.
Primarily. Try to have one of you with mechanical knowledge.
Lot's of first timers have gone b4 you.
and will go AFTER you too.

There are plenty of Nomads with enough experience to take a well prepared group on the CSR - if you company has folded - seek help for guide on these pages or Gumtree even - I can't do it personally in next two years (despite chomping at the bit to do it again) but there are always groups from 4wd clubs going out there.

Thanks for that.  Our friends from UK are coming out 23 Mar so would have to tie in around that date.  Do you know any groups going there then.  How can I find out?  Very disappointed it's not happening as planned.

I have friends who paid for two trips ($10,000) for June July last year. Both trips cancelled at the last moment with the promise of a full refund. To date no refund and there are others who have suffered significant loss as well. Staff have noted on the net that they were not paid. It is obvious the operator is a shonk and I think may have continued trading when he was insolvent. I am afraid you like my friends have blown your money. Sorry for the sad news daz

Thanks very much for confirming what we thought.  Have your friends contacted Fair Trading who might be able to help get some of their money back.

I know it's "after the horses have bolted" etc.

But the main reason we take out Ins. (RACQ)
for every trip we take that includes bookings.

Last O\S trip, they reimbursed us around $6300 in unused bookings
as I Couldn't do the heights at Machu Pichu etc. (breathing.)

Doctors reports cost $150 each though.
They have them ready printed out in a tear off pages folder.
Not a racket. Much.

Plus left my camera in hire car in Raleigh N.C.

Not being smart.
Just. Maybe helping somebody else in the future.

ANY trips with bookings included, and fares paid.
It covers those costs, and well worth the few dollars believe me.
When S--t does happen.
