I Don't use I Pads.
But I use Netflix on TV and Laptop\Tablet.

several levels of Quality. I use 720 bits not 1080 (Cheaper.)

and they seem to have widest rang of entertainment. plus updating regularly too.
Huge range of TV series if that way inclined.
I think it $11.80 or near $14, can't remember. Ask.
I find them worth it whereas We only had others for first month

and Foxtel for the free coupla months. Rip off that lot.

Havent got either Stan or Netflix - waiting, waiting, waiting for NBN which they finished installing in our area about 4 months ago (I guess they have to have a lot of expensive lunches and red wines at NBN H/O to finally make the decision to turn on systems in various areas)

Ooops - sorry was my bitter NBN slip showing :))

We used to have Foxtel and what annoyed me was the constant repeats of programmes, especially the movies. When you really took notice, there was very little new stuff - just the same old, same old constantly repeated

Anyway, cutting finally to the chase - are Stan and Netflix like Foxtel for constant repeats????

I have used all three (Stan, Netflix and Presto) and my preference is for STAN. I mostly used it on the TV but viewing on iPad was fine too.

Are you planning to use this 'on the road'? Don't forget to factor in the high data usage. This could run into a fair few dollars in data... Just a thought.

I haven't done any research as yet about Amazon Prime. There are reports that Amazon Prime is about to launch their service worldwide early this year. The talk is they want to undercut Netflix and Stan.

They have said that books, audio books as well will be part of the service not just DVD and TV content. I do know their library runs into the millions of titles of movies.

Be interesting to find out if Australia is on their list and what the pricing will be.

I think the cost of both is minimal as far as subscription goes. Can't confirm as ours is via our sons subscription so we don't pay anything.

The real cost comes in the data usage with your ISP.

As a guide, movies can be 750 Mb to 1 Gb, so you can use a lot of data very quickly. On days where Kathy watches Stan particularly with TV shows, usage can be up to 7 or 8 Gb easily, especially if free to air has nothing on.

We use both at home, but we have a Limitless data allowance on the NBN for data.

Have used both Stan and Netflix.

My opinion is that Netflix is streets ahead, costs us about $10 month, as others have said consider data usage, unless on unlimited.smile

Not at all, you as the user select what and when you want to watch a movie, TV series or Documentary. If you get part way through, when you return, it picks up from where you left off. We had both STAN and Netflix, but now only watch Netflix programs. We found the programs offered by Netflix suited us better, but both are far better than any Foxtel package you might have. Cheap as chips, its around $10 a month to use on a couple of devices. We have unlimited downloads at home, so watching isn't a problem, but in the van, I would use it sparingly, unless you have a very good wifi connection somewhere.

I use Stan on my iPad. Once you subscribe you can then use it on up to three devices (I think). I use it on my TV as well it costs $10 a month for as many movies, TV shows etc, you want to watch.

As a matter of interest when you cancel your subscription to Stan the spam begins (they have your email address) block it I hear you say, nope, they have ways and means of bypassing junk mail filters, very annoying.no

I have Netflix. $10 a month. Pay it monthly by iTunes Card. If you buy iTunes card when it is 20% off price from Coles, Woollies, etc. there is another saving for you. .. $8 a month.
