I am looking to buy a used van with a dining area layout as per the attached photo.
When I speak to many salespersons about this layout I get looks like I have two heads (no I am not a Taswegian).
Whilst we are all familiar with the "L" shaped Dinette, The Cafe arrangement; and the Lounge layout (which is a full "U" shape), what would be an industry term for the one pictured.
I do trust in the experienced wisdom of all my fellow nomads, guys and gals.
My fav is L lounge with table and short lounge opposite side.
Di prefers th U shape over complete end of van.
Either way.
First thing I do is remove inbuilt table. (have you seen the room without it??)
and use a small folding moulded table for two.
that with normal folder\chairs outside does us fine.
Then.
single beds. Plus open lounges\area. makes an 18ft into a 23 fter.
Believe me.
Double\queen beds take up fully half of van. and only used for a few hrs a day.
Rest of time you just look at it and wish it would go away.
A couple of ply sheets under singles. Swing them round and move mattresses.
You have double bed for any activity.
Then back again and a fully open van.
Walk right through from window to window.
All the vans, decades ago.
Had either lift up into wall beds. that came down over lounge frame.
or.
Some actually went up into roof.
Either way.
Much larger interiors in same exterior shell.
That lounge shown would be very annoying with stupid little sectional table\s.
If trying to set up table for a meal, or game of cards etc.
Like sitting in a doctors surgery. All in line.
Great for conversations.
I'd say the missus would love you... Ha Ha.

don't know of any other term other than Café for this layout.
I can tell you that Evernew used/use it a lot and I have seen a number of their vans on the used market with it. Alos seen some used Boroma vans with it. Not many others I know of.

Keiron, I do not know the industry term, but our van has a similar Front lounge as part of the L lounge. I sit in the corner with feet up on the lounge and watch TV/ read and SWMBO normally at the other end of the L since its closer to the kitchen part of the van.
I do not think its a great design space wise but at the right price and the rest of the van is great to me its not a deal breaker ie a good purchase.
It's the layout were we are looking for with 2 single beds please

That material etc. Quality of timber and finish.

If so.
And rest of van the same. Buy it.
You'd be pushing to buy better.
Can always pay a bit extra later and get that area changed to L Shaped
and remove the little one.
Combined with a mobile table.
That layout almost,(in rev) was Di's fav in a Compass we had. Yrs ago.
But shifting tables from any van. really makes a difference.
They easy to wind\screw out if you loosen
and take table\leg off base for a look. (35 seconds)
I'm just in middle of glueing new plastic edging strip all round floor of Coromal.
then laying 6mm cork 300x300 tiles on top of lino after washing with Acetone first.
for extra cooling. quietness and much nicer on bare feet (me)
That with the heat refl paint over top, with coupla panels.
really makes for a cooler van up here.
Take 15 yrs off it's age ('98\'99) and it'd be a purrfect little weekender, fishing bed.
Was a gud price though.

It is not a club lounge as I know it. The padded ends on the seat do not turn the seat into a club lounge. A club lounge is one where the table goes around 3 sides of the table, like this one.
A lot depends upon where the TV is located in relation to the dinette/lounge. Our last two vans have been a similar layout, the older with a L shape dinette and the present one has a cafe one (albeit without the wings at the end of the seat.) In both cases The TV is down on the cabinet in the bottom RH corner and the cabinet under the TV in the picture is a full height cupboard. The table with the L shape lounge was parallel with the side wall and this made it difficult for both of us to watch TV whilst using the table. If I was sitting in the corner using my computer and the cook was sitting on the seat along the end wall it gave her virtually no table for her craft work. With the current cafe set-up there is sufficient length of table for both of us to sit along the end wall and have a share of table.
As for being sociable, the L shape set-up would accommodate more diners as we could add folding chairs and seat 7 where the current cafe dinette will only accommodate 4 with a squeeze. The message I am attempting to get across is that there is no simple answer to which is the best layout. A lot depends upon your lifestyle and the layout of other things in the van like the TV and general movement areas. If our previous van had the TV located as per the OP picture we would have been happy with the L shape but we would have lost that extra storage in the full height cupboard. The layout that we do not like is the club lounge. Every one we have tried would have given very tight seating when 4 people are dining and we feel the corners are a waste of apace, if you attempt to seat anyone in them it cramps your legs. If you are not in the habit of inviting people into the van for social occasions then consider reclining chairs, you eat dinette style with a small pull-out table and you can spread out afterwards.
When you go out tyre kicking co-opt another couple and see how cope sitting at the table and lounging around. This type of test is important if you want to use the interior of your van for social occasions.

Friends of ours have just this last week taken delivery of their new caravan with similar seating. The difference is that the end seating as per your seating continued on down to probably half the side and the double bed folds down on top of the seating,for nighttime.
Great for entertaining,heaps of room .Not sure what you would call that though .
Hope you find something to suit your purpose .
We can suggest all sorts of things but you need to buy whatever suits your purpose
