With the okay from Cindy, I post a press release from a local club, Phil
A new RV-Friendly overnighting location exclusively for self-contained RVs has opened in Tuncurry NSW.
The Sporties Club on Beach Street, northern Tuncurry have opened up 2 areas, each capable of accommodating 6 medium-sized caravans or motorhomes on a 6-month trial to evaluate the needs of RV travellers. It is intended that RV travellers will stay for 48 hours before moving on although a second 48 hrs can be arranged with club management if required. Other conditions also apply to all visitors with signs clearly explaining those conditions.
The club may be proceeding with an additional development in the near future to provide accommodation for 20+ self-contained RVs with made access roads and hard-standing sites for vehicles. Big Rigs over 15m will be welcome at the latter site once it has been constructed.
The Sporties Club are making this scheme available at $5 per person per night so that solo travellers will not be charged a 'site' fee for 2 persons. Pets and their well behaved owners are welcome as well. Through the day when the club is open, RV visitors have the full use of club facilities, incl bistro & restaurant, gaming areas, tennis courts and bowling greens. Memberships are available, enabling people to obtain discounts on all the above items.
Club management stresses that there are no ablutions available to RV travellers, therefore the need to be self contained. Vehicles without toilet and shower will be directed to any of the local commercial facilities at nearby caravan parks.
The location is within walking distance from local shops, supermarket, fuel station, medical facilities & chemist. The Forster-Tuncurry public dump point is available in Forster until the Sporties Club install their own dump point.

Tuncurry is a nice little town away from the holiday noise of Forster. This will be well patronised, last time I stayed there it was close to $40/2/night at the van park.
So does self contained also mean you have to have greywater tanks or do they mean you can stay if you have your own shower and toilet. its very sandy there anyway so Im guessing the greywater onto the sandy ground is not going to be a big issue. At the van park just down the road along the beach sites used to have no sullage at the sites, just ran it on the sand behind the rabbit fence.
I am not a member of this club but have been working with mgt to help make this all happen
The club's requirement for visiting vehicles is "internal toilet & personal washing facilities" ... loosely called 'shower & toilet'
The club wants to offer space for 'responsible' caravanners & motorhomers [ie: us travellers] with a place to stay for a day or two while they are in the district
The club wants to avoid the backpackers & itinerants in station wagons etc who use the bushes during hours of darkness, and pour a bucket of cold water over themselves while standing at the driver's door of their van or station wagon
All visitors have full use of the clubs facilities, bistro & eateries, tennis courts, lawn bowls etc etc while they are staying.
You are quite correct in the sandy soil base, and any grey water dropped will soak into the soil straight away
For this trial there are 2 areas each of about 2-3 tennis courts in size, each capable of fitting 5-6 caravans or motorhomes. Future plans are to create a 20-24 space area with hard-standing areas for big rigs of up to 20m long.
