hi all when I am getting letters in my inbox from center link about my pension they open up in some sort of format that I cant read its all numbers and all sorts of letters can some one help cheers snap
G'day Snap , you are getting your notification from Centrelink in PDF and you need to download Acrobat Reader so that you can read it in English .I do nor know what version of windows you are using but do a google to find Acrobat Reader and download the version for your O/S . Hope this helps .
Save the file, taking note where you save it, then go to that file right click on the file, in drop down box, click on open with, you will now have a list of programs, highlight your PDF program then tick box to use this program each time for these files, with a bit of luck Bob's your uncle and you will be able to read this file.
Cheers
David
Centrelinks email letters are a crock and although I have the latest version on PDF - I usually have issues with their junk and have to fiddle around to get it to open rather than the rubbish that Snap is seeing.
Funny I only have issues with Centrelink - all other PDF files I get sent open easily.............guess they just like to make it hard for everyone.
How many older people who have learnt the basics of how to use a computer and the internet have these issues?

The amazing things you see when nomading Australia
Tell Centrelink you aren't computer literate and ask that they send you all notifications by mail.
I am in the process of doing this and I am quite competent on a computer but navigating the MyGov site and then Centrelink would try the patience of a saint.
Then if you want too call them on the phone just make sure you devout a lot of time waiting for a representative to answer you call.
In my area Centrelink built a large new office about the size of a football field and now when you go in there all they want to do is point you to a bank of computers. There is so much unused space in the new office, you could hold a dance party and you would not be in anyone's way,
