Readers might recall our 2001 JBA Falcon Tourer thread here a few weeks back. The car, a UK kit car based on a 1930's sports car like a Jaguar ss100 has a V6 Holden engine and 5 speed manual gearbox.
We towed our home built 3.3 metre long 700kg loaded caravan to Loch in West Gippsland and stayed 2 nights at the local recreation reserve at $15 a night. It was great value at this supreme place, peaceful and lined with oak tress.
The Saturday night we spent at The Cowes Caravan Park. Everything was perfect there except the car load of 20 year olds that giggled and slammed doors most of the night. Of all the things children are taught perhaps consideration for others is missing?
Anyway we returned to Euroa and overall we are really happy with the rig. We achieved 13.9 L/100km. This wasn't too bad considering the car has a TC Ford Cortina differential of 3.7:1, the donor car. I plan to install a 2.92:1 diff next year. That will allow me to cruise at ideal revs in 4th gear say 90kph at 2000 rpm. Currently its at 2700 rpm. Towing in 5th gears isn't recommended with the Borg Warner t5 gearbox. I did so for a short period downhill and the revs dropped to the same level a higher diff in 4th gear would give and it was perfect IMO.

I previously owned a trike. The trike world lives teardrops. However they aren't practical, can't stand up in them, no shower/toilet and are quite heavy. I also owned a large teardrop called a t@b.
That's why we built a useful van with shower and toilet.
I agree though, teardrops look great.
