An evaporative air conditioner is basically a waste of time unless it is hot and very dry weather, they do not work in a humid environment.
It would probably feel cool if you sat directly in front of the airflow. though I think you would be much better off, if you kept the $300 it costs for this unit, in your pocket.

I hope that I am not too late to welcome you to the forum
My wife has just brought a Transcool EC3F Portable 12 volt Evaporative Cooler, in the last few days She mentioned $300, so it may be the one, or similar to the one, you are talking about
I shall report back in a few months how it went in the heat, and I shall give an honest appraisal
She probably already knows that it will not cool the entire interior of the motorhome, as on this coming trip, she commands that we take the generator with us
Looking at the literature that came with it, I would say that it is more a personal cooler for the individual, rather than a cooler for the interior of the RV It will probably help with her sinus problem, as she does not like a stuffy atmosphere
I am at this stage completely neutral, as the cooler being an untested toy, I am neither for or against it
If it helps the Smart Woman (who) Must Be Obeyed, to get to like long distance travelling, then (for me) it is a good buy, regardless if it works or not
Friends have such a unit, or similar, and they say that it works fine for what it is. It's not as good as a reverse cycle, but quite satisfactory. Have the air blowing on you. They did say it is quite noisy. While away recently they used it as the day was quite warm; about 34C.
