Had my prostate out 8 years ago. Surgeon told me that I wasn't allowed to ride my motorbike for 6 months. Never said anything about a trike. So I bought one about a month later and after another month rode from Melbourne to Townsville. Once the catheter comes out, make sure you do your pelvic floor exercises (can do driving, watching TV - easy) and you'll be out to play again as per normal within 5-6 weeks. I've had no problems.
PS. The prostate is lighter than air. I was in hospital for about 5-6 days. Ate nothing and was heavier than when I went in. Go figure.
So far I've given up prostate, tonsils (standard Xmas removal between kinder & school in the 1950s), appendix (partially burst at work) & Gall Bladder (burst whilst in hospital recovering from the appendix removal).

apparently its usually key hole and youre out the same day or the next day......
I believe the keyhole surgery is robotic and expensive but you are out that day. A lot of high flyers have than done (eg Sam Newman) as they lose more $ with time off than the cost of the robotic surgery.

G-day all.
Thanks for the best wishes. Unfortunately having the knife not keyhole. Like LLD have a few parts missing nowdays.
They said about 4..5 days in hospital. Then back in 10days to get stitches out.worst part is a 600k round trip. Good chance for the boss to drive me around.
Hope to be back on the road in 3mts or there about, all going well. Should have itchy feet by then.
We have only been on the road for 14mts,but love it .Like most should of done it 5/6yrs ago.
All the best,
Woody2.
Good luck with the Op Woody don't know if you are getting it done at the John Hunter or the Mater both are good hospitals but the Mater is far easy for visitor parking that the John. You will be patched up and back on the road in no time.
