If you want TV every where you will have to go to a Satilite dish and box, you should get a picture everywhere. A TV antenna with a booster doesn't work too far from the towers.

I've tried a number of Antenna Boosters and different types of Aerials
with-out success,
I am now convinced that Satellite is the only way to go, the biggest expense is purchasing a receiver/decoder,
If you see a cheap one advertised, make sure it is one that receives Vast transmissions, there a lot of the earlier Strong brand sets for sale, but these no longer are of any use as the Satellite has changed transmission frequency,
there is a cheap Vast decoder available on Evil Bay for $235.95,with free delivery, this set is for sale in the shops at $255.00 and it can run on 240v or 12v, it's called a Satking, model DVBS2-800CA
but after that you will still need a Dish, a Satellite finder and Compass,
In going to Satellite, I have managed to pickup a good second hand Dish with finder and a heap of cable for $ 40.00, this has saved me several hundred Dollars. all I have to do now ,is save my Pennies and buy the Vast decoder before they are all gone,
So if that is the way you wish to go, I would say you will have no further problems in receiving all the T.V. you want to see.

Been out West Qld and people have not got any reception at all, even with their satellite dish. Aus-Kiwi is right. Go for the biggest dish. Get coverage all over Aust then. Dave

I have tried a few different antennas in my short time on the caravanning highway, and after hours of stuffing around it is still hard to beat this simple antenna!!!
We did 2 trips around the block back in the 1990s, from Perth to QLD and Darwin and a million other places in between, and only ever had the good old faithful $99 Dick Smith antenna. We never missed a beat, I know the Dish is a fashion statement, but we aren't fashionable.
OUCH.
Not really interested in the discussion, but today saw a dish on a caravan mounted on the A Frame of the van. The van was an older van, but had seen a lot of miles. So had the dish, battered by stones and rocks. Asked if it still worked and the answer was just as good as we installed it! This was not a fashion statement, it was a statement of it is not broken, why fix it?

Yes, I have one of those "Happy Wandered" types of Aerials, which I must admit are a usually a very good type to use,
I also have a more expensive one with a mast head Booster attached,
Still no good reception with either where we go fishing, which is about 250km North of Perth and about 100km South of Geraldton on the West coast,
Maybe it's just the area, as there is only one bar communication on the phones in this area, also no radio reception at all.
This situation really makes the Good Woman mad, as she must have the T.V.Soapies as part of her daily life. She now refuses to go fishing again until she has her T.V. !!!
"Ah Well" stick another block of the "Good oil" in the back Boys, gotta keep the van balanced. Right ??
