Perth to Broome and back......3 weeks

Hi All, We have booked Broome for end July. Lucky got into CP for 13 nts. We are thinking of going up coast and stopping at Galena River rest stop 1 nt, Coral Bay 2 nts, then not sure where to stop over the next 1-2 nts. We want to stop overnight before it gets dark, and haven't been any further than Exmouth in past years. We may come back same way, or through Karijini and are hoping you can give us your thoughts and experiences. Very much appreciated and excited. Looking forward to our trip, even though we only have 3 weeks. Catch you out there one day. Cheers everyone.

Ashburton Shire have put in two toilets at the freecamps on Nanutarra Road (into TP). (House Creek & Beasley River). They are great places to stop as the trip into Karijini is a long way in especially when you've already travelled enough that day. There is also a station stay which is only about 1km off the road. (Cheela Plains). Hopefully someone else will give you some tips about places between Nanutarra and Broome. You won't want to miss Karijini!

We didn't .. But it doesn't hurt to ring forward . One thing . Take it easy going down the roads to station . I found 40 kph just right . I was in motorhome . There's a station north of Monkey Myre with very good fasilities .. Pool, restaurant etc . We booked an extra week . Good showers and toilets .. Good fishing too . Although muddy without a boat .

Hi, Thanks for your reply. We know the places you mentioned and have stopped there over past years. But its the journey from Exmouth to Broome that we will be doing for the first time. Do you have any ideas of overnight (even 2 nts) stopovers on that leg of the trip? :) Thanks again in advance.

good free camp with toilets at DeGrey river about 500 k's south of Broome and not far from Pardoo Station. Might pay to check as the powered places get busy with grey nomads tat time of the year. We love Pardoo Station, community campfire every night, restaurant, shop - we worked there for 6 mths in 2013 and our grand daughter as just finished her 3rd stint there.
