We are staying at the above park. About 20 klms out of Ballarat. We looked at Haddon reserve, but not a good spot. Honour system applies. Could be worth a look if you intend to give the C.Parks a miss in Ballarat. After all Ballarat did trial a free camp in the city region for what was to be 12 months and was suspended after 9 months ( I think) I wonder why they did not want us g.N. supporting their city. Yes you guess it .... C.Park owners.

I've heard about Smythedale but never been able to find it. Will look harder next time.
I did stay in the now closed trial free camp. Oh well they've only got themselves to blame when we spend our money elsewhere.
In SMYTHESDALE cMp at the moment, HOT showers, ring Brendon for door number, toilets, water, rubbish bins, plenty of room- donation envelope to the local PO/roadhouse. Turn down White Street, next to servo.
