I like to get in buy what I want and get out, she likes to walk around for hours browsing and most of the time leaves empty handed. To avoid arguments we only go shopping together if we know exactly where we are going and what we are going there to buy - otherwise she's solo.

It is a moving experience for me, as I get to push the trolley, therefore I am in charge, (so I have been told)
Err on a serious note In my younger days like most men, shopping was not very high on my list of priorities, and therefore was probably a bit of a nuisance
After unfortunately being housebound, for a short while, I started to look forward to the local shopping trips, as it was something different to do
I believe that as I got older, I became a bit more tolerant towards shopping
I very seldom go out to shop for myself, and I probably go shopping with the wife, about 50% of the times she goes shopping.
NOW NOW BOYS What about when you go into those HARDWARE STORES and walk around and around picking up that bolt oh no not that one then around and around we go picking up random things turning them around and upside down and then deciding that no not this time and then you get to the checkout and have the cheek to say oh I've left the wallet at home love can you pay for this and I'll fix you up when we get home
I am a Missus who hates shopping! I would much rather go fishing. Unfortunately I don't catch enough to keep us fed so someone has to do it. I can tell you though, it sure isn't me!! My wonderful Hubby does the shopping. :)
I went to Bunnings today. Walked in, immediately turned right, walked past a couple of aisles, turned left down an aisle, continued across the central aisle kept walking till I reached the far wall, in front of me was the metal rack, I looked to see if they had what I wanted, aluminium "sail track" yes it was there, 3m for $17.64 or $6.40 for a meter length. Not ready to buy yet, turned around and walked out through the entrance. P.S. had a quick look for a light weight folding ladder, time approximately 3 nanoseconds. Total time involved 10 nanoseconds.

This sounds like you have been following my husband around the Green Shed, That is exactly what he does!!
As for other shopping I have suggested he just sit out in the walkway and watch the girls whilst I shop but no he has to come with me, querying why do you want that, isn't there one in the cupboard etc then I get to the checkout and he has snuck all sorts of goodies into the trolley!! I can get in and out a damn sight quicker (and cheaper!!) with out him "helping" me . I am not a good shopper, it is another chore that has to be done!! Had a great grandy born three weeks ago and the thought of going into a shop to buy baby stuff gives me the heebies..at this rate he will be at Kindy before he gets his welcome to the world pressy!!
I love shopping - but not for food - that's just a chore!!!! I like to do that with someone else, especially as I don't cook - I reckon you need to have the cook along to make sure they have all the ingredients they need!
Other shopping - oh please, all clothing stores, shoe stores, stores like Spotlight etc., should have seats out front, with coffee available for the men!!!

I second that, I have been in one or two shops/apartment stores that have had chairs for the guys, but that is very rare. I just wonder how much extra business a store would get, by having a sit down place with a TV or magazines (both) for the guys.
I am a female and I loathe normal shopping I have to be dragged to the shops. I don't mind the grocery shop, we don't usually linger there though. When I shop hubby comes with me to push the trolley. He says his reward for that is coffee and donuts. We generally walk in get what we want and walk out. Then he has his coffee his donuts, and my donuts too. Then we go home. If I could get away with it I would buy groceries online and have it delivered, but he says he misses out on his donuts then. Oh bring on end of next year when we have our van I am so looking forward to being minimalist in what we have.
