Ayers Rock in November

Hi, we are headed to Coober Pedy and Ayers Rock now from Pt Augusta. I know it will be warm, but time means we have to go now. Has anyone beenthere in November? Advice please from experienced nomads regarding weather. Thanks

Gday...

I think the expression would be  ........ bit bloody hot mate

I spent two weeks at Uluru some years back in late October ... and it was 45deg some days. hmm

Try this site for some past data on the weather in that region -

Yes it gets pretty warm up there that time of year specially Oodnadatta track in December / January. Mid year is the best time to head through that area if can get the timing right

We have just returned from a month in the SA deserts at a time when I wold not recommend others to be out there.
The weather was great with a max of the mid 30s.

We also spent a week on a cattle station north of Coober Pedy in January once. It was close to 50C in the shade every day.

41C is forecast for Marla on Thursday 10/11/16.

And around 41C all next week for Yalara.

If it is hot, the obvious cautions apply. Take plenty of drinking water, and drink it. Avoid exertion in the heat of the day and keep out of the sun. Be particularly cautious in the event of a break down. Tyres will be under extreme stress and will mostly fail at the worst time.

Cheers,
Peter
