The following is purported to be a message sent to Douglas McArthur by Harry Truman in 1945. I cannot verify its veracity but I concur with the sentiments!!!
Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of sh-t by the clean end!

Along the lines of the media jackals who foster the political correctness line.
I watched three differing news bulletins yesterday re The Clinton/Trump rubbish.
One survey has Trump again leading by a small majority, another had Clinton ahead, same small majority and the third had Clinton running away with a good lead.
It detracts from the facts that the Good Ol' US of A has major problems with health which Obama wanted to sort out but couldn't Gun deaths at epidemic plague levels and workers for fast food giants paid so little in full time jobs they qualify for Govt. Assistance and food stamps whilst they are making trillions of dollars profit.
Divide the masses with trivial matters and go on ripping off the average Joe.
It is getting to be like that here. Take the Banking Royal Commission. Big business doesn't want it so the Govt. doesn't want it, so the headlines go for whatever else will divert the public for the moment.
The term political correctness (adjectivally: politically correct; commonly abbreviated to PC),[1] in modern usage, is used to describe language, policies, or measures that are intended primarily not to offend or disadvantage any particular group of people in society. In the media, the term is generally used as a pejorative (derogatory term), implying that these policies are excessive. (wikipedia)
In other words political correctness could well stifle debate or comment on just about anything as I sure that someone is probably going to be offended by whatever topic is being discussed. Turn on the ABC they are normally very good at finding those who have been outraged by something or other - sorry now I've cast aspersions on the people at the ABC and that's not being very politically correct.

Political correctness is a tool alright just tune into abc and listen to all the left wing stuff ,us the silent majority have a completely different view on things it's called common sense, well hope this is not getting to political, but haveing to put up with these minority lefty groups getting all the press and the silent majority with common sense not haveing there views respected seems to be the way of things.
I'm old and close to the end and after the last 10 years of PC BS and other alphabet acronyms for poofters and a military grade push to push us 1400 years back in time I've concluded this...
Go knock yourselves out, I'm done... I really don't give a hoot if there's a WWIII......

Its time the silent majority unite and start voicing our dissatisfaction.
Not allowed to call them Fairy Penguins which as kids we went to Phillip Island to watch the Fairy Penguin parade walk up the beach and over your feet. As kids, we never associated any words that associated with groups, but now, political correct language has changed all that. They are Little Penguins. Even Wrens have been affected. There are no more Fairy Wrens! The rat of the air, the Indian Mynah, which I trap and kill, is now to be called the Common Mynah. Apparently Indians now find it offensive! I find political correctness offensive at the level I am talking about, because the tossers who make these decisions are the ones influence the bigger decisions!

yep were now a left wing society in some respects the older generation was far better off .
This is becoming a real crisis for Australians what are we supposed to call things like fairy lights, fairy bread, the tooth fairy - worse still if we go to Sydney we won't even be able to catch a Manly fairy. Imagine how much it is now going to cost us to change all those children's fairy tales - oops sorry said fairy again I hope that I didn't offend anyone.
Noddy and Bigears, along with Golliwog got banned. I grew up on that stuff and because Noddy slept in the same bed as Bigears and Golliwog was a black doll with fuzzy hair, best as I remember him, kids aren't allowed to read these books! I give up. I saw a kids book in a bookshop about a boy having two mothers. No father, just two mothers. Apparently there is also one about two fathers as well. Is this political correctness or a degradation of society and a repeat of the fall of Rome?
worse still if we go to Sydney we won't even be able to catch a Manly ferry
I should hope not, that word discriminates against any who is not a man, we will have to catch the equal opportunity ferry, and just hope that it is going to Manly
Trump's in, PC is dead, global recession and WW3 are just around the corner. With any luck I'll just catch the mushroom cloud as I'm closing my eyes for the last time. Armageddon -- bring it on.

I don't know about the "recently fostered" bit. I first saw it around over 10 years ago in the following form.

Fairy Penguins are still Fairy Penguins to me, as is Fairy Wrens, Indian Mynahs, and power blackouts are still blackouts not outages. I eat pork and ham and I don`t care who I upset.

Just my opinion but - we shouldn't be taking this too seriously as far as I know there is no law preventing people from using terms such as fairy, blackout, Indian Mynah etc. it is only deemed by our ever vigilant "thought police" as being politically incorrect to do so. When we start taking these people too seriously they have won so just treat this stuff like the joke that it is. They may have enough influence to get things removed from children's story books but really they have no influence over what words people use in their everyday conversations.

We speak English - why can't we use the whole of the English language? If people from different countries have birds like fairy wrens - what do they call them?
I have called "grass trees" "blackboys" all my life - nobody objected - it is ridiculous!
