I have an 80 litre on a drop slide in the back of my Navara and it stays there all the time.
I can plug it into 230v power if I need to which also charges the aux battery. I have 2 120w solar panels on the roof of the canopy which will charge the aux battery and run the fridge.
That setup works well for me.

G'day Ron
I have a 60L Engel mounted inside the motorhome on 12V. Just went away and rained and cloudy over the weekend and didn't notice the battery charge moved at all. Have 260 solar on roof and 2 x 100Ahr batteries. Amazed how little power the Engel used. Very happy with it.

G'day Ron. I also have a BT 50 and my Engel lives in the tray (fitted with a fibreglass canopy) all the time on the road . A solar panel on the roof keeps the house battery charged when stopped. The dc/dc charger keeps it going on the road. I just connect to power when it is available. Works perfect for me.
Cheers.

I've got 200 watt solar panel on top of the ute feeding 2x 120 Ahr batteries
that's plenty to run a 75 ltr Evakool fridge/freezer
Mine only runs on the batteries
