Installed some comfy Chairs

Hi, Reading a article in Grey Nomads about office chairs in caravans, instead of box seating witch can become very uncomfortable after awhile. So after a lot of convincing the wife, got busy Bang bang and a lot of Rotten Staples a bit of nice timber a little paint and a lot of luck.

Best thing I've done, except for installing a Washing Machine,  Another story, come up a treat and very comfy they recline, $175 each from Officeworks and a good colour suits the van nicely I'll try and put in a photo hope you like and if you need any more info give a yell

Regards Peter and Shirley

Hi Peter & Shirley,   Those chairs look great, and they are exactly what I have in mind to convert the seating in our Coromal Caravan,

I noticed they have casters on the legs, how do you stop them from moving around when travelling ?,

Peter and Shirley your set up looks fantastic, well done on doing it yourself. We really like the idea of comfy chairs but would miss all the under seat storage we have in the existing setup. As we are on the road permanently, we can't afford to lose this amount of storage space.

I would like to put a comfortable chair on top of the box seating, my hot water service is underneath so would have to be movable if repairs were necessary.
Any suggestions?

Heather

Hi Kiwi Jim; and others,  from one retired firefighter to another, yes they are on casters but it is possible to put them on Sliders that you can buy at Officeworks for $9, but I like to move them away from the table to recline and watch telly.  and as far as loosing storage space theirs still plenty under the table, and a good ocky strap with a good tie down spot keeps them in check and does the trick. Our Van is only 17ft long so the wheel well's under the seat anyway so got as much space now as before. Regards Peter T.

That looks great. We did ours last gear and there seems to be more people doing the same. I would recommend this idea to anyone that hates the uncomfortable standard seats. Go for it.

I finally found a seat that would fold forward so I could access the storage underneath.
A brochure from the local marine shop had the ideal solution.
