Shut the front gate!

I know what is happening where I am, Greens Lake, NC VIC but after just checking the weather gods paperwork and that map in your link, Rocky, they have it all wrong. My estimate would be from previous experience at least 70kmh winds with stronger gusts from the NNW. I didn't get a chance to bring the awning up as happens a lot here the wind hit hard and fast. All good so far, just have to ride it out and hopefully that's not litterally.

Anyone in Tassie? I will wave as I fly across :(

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Sorry to see all the misfortune that those in the Eastern States are suffering at the moment with the flooding. The damage and resulting hardship to homes and businesses, especially primary produce like market gardens and farming, goes on for years afterwards.

We've been lucky over in WA - so far, but lots of dire predictions of many large bush fires ahead of us similar to the one in the Kimberleys at the moment. Weather here is like Melbourne normally gets - four seasons in one day, or fine and warm one day and cooler and bucketing down the next.

BTW - Good luck Dougwe - get the 2 girls outside hanging on to ropes to stop the van blowing away !

I've had the door of my garage (double, sectional) cave in. It was getting a bit dodgy and the wind was the final straw. Also the skylight on my van was closed but apparently not clipped down and it literally went west. It was just as well the power went off as I stepped outside to check my house mains and check neighbours had no power too and spotted a big rectangular plastic dome in pieces on the footpath. It poured rain just after I managed to put the dome back and anchor is down with a tarp. Now trying to get a new dome is proving a tad expensive (and elusive).

Do not have a good record in SA. Went to Glenelg in the early 1990s only to encounter the biggest storm since the pier blew down. Went back about 8 years ago only to encounter the biggest storm since our 1990s visit. Visited Adelaide 12 months later only to be caught in the biggest hail-storm in decades. A trip to Victor Harbour about 4 years ago turned out to be a disaster wind wise so we headed off to the Barossa which had rains like the last few weeks. Then a trip to Wallaroo last year was so windy that after a few days we were the only ones left in a van in a large van park. And a man-made sand storm in a Port August van park earlier this year was a tad uncomfortable and upset all campers. Yet I keep going back.

 We know the feeling.

We had planned to travel and camp along the Murray from Albury following the Murray to S.Aust. But!!!! due to flooding we have moved to plan B. and will now follow the Murray in reverse from S.Aust to Yarrawonga later in the year.

Currently in Shepparton and then to Green Lake and south to the Great Ocean Road.

Safe travels everyone/.

Need to look at the condition of the GOR. It's suffering from landslides. I've got two trips coming along the Murray (Jingellic in Dec and Zanetti's / Yarrawonga in Jan). Zanetti's is currently under water and locals say even though the campsite will dry out, the road in may not.
