I need some advice

Hi.   Can any of you let me know if there is a caravan one of you may have that has 2  armchairs in them apart from a 5th wheeler.  All of the caravans I have seen online on their virtual tours, have a tv in the kitchen area and/or the bedroom.    I don't like the fact that if I wanted to watch the tv or dvd that I have to lay on the bed all that time, or sit at the dinette table which really doesn't look comfortable if you are going to be seated there for a few hours.    Any idea anyone???  thank you in advance.

Hi Furball,

Many Caravan Manufacturers have floor plans with Recliner seats you just have to do your research. I have a Regal Caravan with Recliners located at the back of the van. Traveller Caravans have a model with the same set up as mine. Google search for 23'6 TRAVELLER INTRIGUE GRANGE - RECLINERS for an example. As I say many other manufacurers have similar floor plans.

Hope this helps you

Caravans_24_75-2.jpg                            I also was after a van with recliners, but what I found was the recliner chairs were fitted at the waist of the van, and you couldn't fully recline them unless you put your feet on the kitchen bench. We found only one model that had recliners at the end of the van, and fully reclined with room still to spare.

It is the Jayco Silverline 24ft model, which we purchased. It is a standard off the shelf model.

I Don't have that problem . I hardly watch tv.

Our 512 Coromal has a 2 seater on opposite side of table. That's enough for me.

My daughter has a Jayfeather by Jayco that has a similar design to the Silverline that has 2 recliners. I think it is for sale at the moment if you are interested (in Adelaide)

A lot of people just removed dinette
and replaced with recliners and lift up, or like mine.
Free standing table.

Removing the fixed table and replacing with a free standing unit.
Really enlarges the living area.

How the hell do you stick a picture in these posts??.

Hi Furball. I have recliners in my van. They were put there by myself. Not having a great deal of cash at the time but wanting something a bit more comfortable than caravan seating generally offers I refurbished my twenty year old van. Now we have the comfort without the outlay of a replacement cost of another van. I guess its a case of how handy you may be and how driven  you might be by circumstance.  Search "refurb my 1997 compass" if you are interested in seeing what i did.

Hope this helps

We took out the club lounge in our 24' Sterling and replaced with recliners. I still have to refit around the wheel arches but have not had time. Also looking at possibly a tri fold table or free standing. Due to my disabilities, and Eril's "short" stature I had to modify the height of the recliners.biggrin

Thank you so much, never thought of taking the wrap around seats out of  it and having the chairs there.    So great this site,  unbelieveable support help and advice.

Thank you so very much

Hi again... I should have included a photo in my previous reply. This is our set up in our Regal Van. We can fully recline the seats and don't need to move them at all as the seats swivel around when we want to eat or watch TV. When we travel the seats have a bolt which connects to the floor of the van to stop any movement. The foot rests are put upside down onto each seat and tied down to also stop movement. As I said many manufacturers have plans with recliner seats or if building a new van they can adjust floor plan to suit your needs. Royal Flair is another manufacturer that does recliners.
