are there any convoys or groups to join ?

Hi, As a traveller, starting out, and wanting to make full use of my van.  Are there any groups or convoys to join?

Don't be afraid. Just get out there and do it for youself. You will be surprised just how quickly you gain confidence and wonder why you didn't start earlier.

There are 4wd tours.
Probably be van tours too.
Check a few Caravan Magazines.

A lot of "Caravan Clubs" in different localities have weekend and longer group trips.
That'd be a start.
Find club in your area.... (Phone book. Local directories maybe.)

Tim - I see you live in Victoria - why not hitch up and head to Greens Lake, (see the Get Togethers section further down the forum on here) - it is on the Midland Highway at Corop - about 50k west of Shepparton, or 80k east of Bendigo - you can go up through Heathcote, head towards Rochester from there, when you hit a T intersection, turn right for about 7k - the camp is on the left. It is a free camp - no power - but there is a flushing toilet block, where you can obtain lake water, and also a dump point.

There are some already there - solos - look for Dougwe in his Chief van - he will enjoy having a chat with you - a lot of people stay there from around now until after Christmas, or even longer.

Tim, as you are in Victoria, if you are interested in joining a club have a look at this list of clubs.

Association of Caravan Clubs of Victoria

Give some of them a phone call and see what they have to offer.
