Van parks Melbourne ready to board Spirit of Tasmania?

Hi All, We are booked to sail Melbourne to Devonport on TT 19/11/16! Taking our van & car this is a day sail so we have to be at Departure Port Melbourne 6.00am to 8.15 am so we wish to stay at a close park overnight the evening of 18/11. Today I contacted TT and the consultant said to me to ask some of my friends that had done the trip or contact Big 4 (I thought very unhelpful now you have our money) I am sure their is a member that can assist us with info! We do travel with a small 2.5 kilo pet dog 19 years of age who is blind so he does not go out the van except when we take him out for a twinkle or what ever so I will declare him to the van park if they are pet friendly or he can just stay in the van for the evening if they do not allow pets. look forward to any relevant help & comments Thanks Bobkat

We stayed at Ashley Gardens  [ now Discovery Parks ] 129 Ashley St Braybrook. Check  out their web site .  We had a drive through site that we stayed hooked up on.

Google Caravan Parks close to Port Melbourne or go to Spirit of Tasmania site and put in Caravan Parks Melbourne and it will come up with 3/4 parks and the one mention by phil

We stayed at Ashley Gardens also, it's not too far from ferry terminal. it was also convenient for catching a bus into Melbourne CBD to have a look around

We also stayed there as well and will do again in the future. Just one thing do a practice run to the terminal from the van park if your not familiar with the area Iam glad we did..

You did not mention if you accompanied a mut or two. Werribee Sout is the dog friendly one. Also much cheaper and not much further out time wise in traffic.

My vote is also Werribee South Caravan Park. Cheaper than Melbourne Prices, and pet friendly.
