The link below is to another topic on this site, in regards to motorhome insurance, but I will point out that my caravan was insured with RAC in Western Australia, who do not insure motorhomes
The four insurers mentioned are in my opinion reputable insurers, but you will have to look at what they offer for caravans, rather than which is the cheapest price
Also I am led to believe that some Private Health Funds, will insure caravans As my Private Health Fund did not, then I did not follow this up Hope the info is helpful to you
Because we live in our van 24/7 we couldnt get insurance from some companies. However, CIL came to the party and we have no complaint about them at all. We have had a few claims (mainly due to my mistakes) which were settled quickly and with friendly operators. Its worth the extra few dollars and the $200 excess to know we have the best, but thats only my opinion.
Enjoy this lifestyle.

Like you we are resident in Tassie. We came here from the mainland 14 years ago. have been insured with RACT for everything for all that time. Made a few claims home and vehicles, never a problem. Excellent both staff and service. Not cheapest but excellence is never cheap.
We have van insured with CIL and can highly recommend them. You don't know how good a company is until you have to claim as we had to do earlier this year. Our claim experience was made so easy by CIL all done over the phone There recommend repairer was great. Have just updated our van and insured with CIL again they were not the cheapest but covered everything and don't charge any extra to pay by the month as some companies do.

Good on you Tassie it.
When we bought the new van in march I researched all the companies I could think of our previous motor home had been with CIL FOR YEARS.
I have now taken out insurance with Bill Tame & associates, he is well recognized in the R V market, only thing is you must be a member of CMCA first ($60.00 )
By the way for your info they want car & van however I had insured the new car just a couple of months ago with coles so I was not prepared to cancel so they still did the van on it own
Ring them and get a quote
Good luck
happy travels
We are with Ken Tame , happy with the price and had a rather large claim recently to repair the car I collided with (my fault , no problems very professional.

Should hear today, and I'll make my recommendation or slamming then
Interesting Fact. I have just spent the afternoon getting quotes from 4 companies to insure our new van. The interesting fact is that none of them enquired if it had electronic stability control. Rod.

Stability Control is a interesting question as it should make a big difference to liability, having had a 2.5t boat do the dance on me and was written off there is no way i would buy a van without it.
