Last Wed I was sitting on the couch at 9.30am, quite relaxed, watching morning TV when without any warning I was in agony with a pain in the middle of my chest. Checked BP - 170/99- too high. Called OOO. Ambulance took 20 mins as we are a bit out of town. Lady ambo put in a cannula & started administering a drug. They did a ECG, & put in more of drug & gradually as we set off for Bundaberg hospital pain dimisihed. At hospital they decided I had a heart attack & so I was sent off to Nambour hospital on a RACQ care flight helicopter. SOME PEOPlE WILL DO ANYTHING FOR A HELICOPTER RIDE.   Thursday I had an angiogram & an a artery was found completely blocked. Blockage cleared by a balloon & a stent put in. Fantastic work by medical staff. Out of hospital Sat. Now back in M/H. Feeling a lot better as for weeks I have been feeling breathless. All  my medications changed & I am now on Warfarin. My activities are limited for the next 6 weeks but I am worried by a chart they gave me that says I can do ironing in the 5th. week. OH ironing is against my religion!! Anyway I am very grateful for the marvellous medical service we get here in Qld. Regards to all  Alice

Wow Alice, dare I ask what else can happen to you? Thankfully it all ended well and hope it doesn't affect your other treatments. Our health services get a lot of bad press from time to time but they usually step up when needed. Hope the chart only says you CAN do ironing, not MUST!!
Cheers
Joe

Oh - Alice - I think you could call 2016 your "Annus Horribilus" !!!
You will be fine now with the stent - I was lucky with my problem, as I have been taking cholesterol lowering drugs for about 20 years, as well as a half dose aspirin - so they kept my plaque from growing and causing any blockages. New meds and all is good now!
Take care - look after yourself and Keith.
