St George to Glenn Innes

Hi,

Hoping everyone is safe.

I just arrived in St George QLD, and what to get to Glen Innes and on to Grafton, but there are a lot of flood warnings. I was wondering if anyone has any current information.

I was thinking of the following route from St George: A46 then A85 to Goondawindi, then A42 to Oman Ama, then A89 to Stanhope and A15 to Glen Innes  and then across to Grafton.

Or would it better to go via Moree ?

I want it to be the safest route for my 8metre long Motorhome.

Can anyone help ???

For the most up to date info on road closures, visit information centres in each town, alternatively, qld transport have a good website, nsw tpt should have similar, I also use RACQ app.

We have used a combination of the above for the past 3 months since leaving Alice Springs. We are now almost knocking on your door, we will be in St George tomorrow.

Better than waiting on vague responses from people on this forum who want to help, but are not currently in the area

Thanks to all of you who replied. I have made it safely to Warialda where we have stopped for the night. WE left early from St George this morning as it rained all night and the ground was sodden. The road here was flooded as we drove from Moree at 12pm. We kept on as the sun shone and no rain fell. We were asked by travellers here when we arrived if the road was closed to Moree, we said it wasn't but advised them to check. Which they said they would do. Making for Glenn Innes tomorrow.
