Western Australia's Mid West region is to boast an expanded wildflower route, which local shires and councils in the area hope will attract more visitors to the area.
The region is a haven for wildflowers from late July to early October, and tourists trek to the area from across Australia and overseas to see them.
Wildflower Country Incorporated, which is comprises the local government areas making up Wildflower Country has received a quarter of a million dollars in funding from the Midwest Development Commission to execute stage two of the Exploring Wildflower Country project.
"It is a real recognition of what this region has to offer," Nita Jane, chairperson of Wildflower Country Inc, told ABC Local Radio.
Current wildflower season 'best in 20 years'

Ive got a heap of oxalis in my ground around the new house - wondering if I could make it a tourist attraction and each person can dig up and take away as many bulbs as they like
