Vans with bunks

We have two teenage daughters who have a love/hate relationship, hence well feel a van with bunks would be less stressful for everyone. Anyone have any recommendations or vans to avoid? Thanks for all replies

Hi paul b, no idea But welcome to the forum. We once had a van with single beds n we found if you r short then they r ok but if you r adult tall then they may not be long  enough. If u buy a van take tapemeasure n sometimes beds R not all the same length. Even one inch makes a difference sometimes. We had this n they looked the same length but were not. Safe travels. Hi Paul,
Not sure if you have looked at or considered a Jayco Expander ? My brother has this Van seems to sleep up to 5 or 6 people but there are separate little sections in the Van itself ? Not my style with fold out ends but it suits some.

Hi.

Most mfg's make "family" vans. Bunks ACROSS the end. tend to give full length beds.
Those spread through the vans. tend to fit space avail. Not always full length.

Look around and sort cheap chaff from better.
they vary.

Hey.

Is there a Family travellers forum????
That'd be ideal for such as this person.

Hi, we just purchased a Jayco sterling that has bunks across from ensuite with a door we can close off. My son is 6'1 and lies comfortably in there. Good luck with your search.

We have recently purchased a coramal lifestyle 700 van.
Secondhand with annex . Triple bunk and ensuite
Works really well for us mostly. Id like the ensuite a bit bigger but you get what you get in secondhand vans.

We bought our first van, a Royal Flair Family Flair. It has 3 bunks which run lengthwise. Next to them is a cupboard at the back of the van and the ensuite is "across" the aisle.

We choose it mainly so we can take the grandkids to the beach, otherwise we'd have prefered the conventional QS bed and not much else arrangement.

The Family is abut 23', all up weight around 2.6t. The Jeep tows it easily, driver, not so much. Still getting used to towing such a huge behemoth.

The van is a 2013 model and cost us $45k.

The kids have plenty of room. Average sized adults would be comfortable.

thanks everyone for the info, especially about the length of bunks, probably would have assumed they were all standard sizes.
since this post we have bought a pajero so we are now in the market for our first van.
we have seen the kokoda family vans and quite like the squadron but also keen on the adria altea 552 pk sport which is a lot lighter.
anyone have any thoughts good or bad about these or any other recommendations.
cheers paul
