Hmmm, that's like asking if God can do anything, can he (or she) make a rock so big that he/she can't throw it?

"His widow" would mean the person was deceased - and even under all the proposals from the Greens in amending the marriage act - No is the answer.

Gday...

- just goes to show woody. No matter which thread in whatever sub-forum, people rarely actually read the question before providing their sage advice.

Cheers - John

PS - I have pinched that one to confirm the perceptivity (or otherwise) of some of my acquaintances.

Well done possum3 you are correct
And yes Rockylizard your point is often seen also here also
I have often seen a comment like where did that happen? if they had read the post properly and fully they would already have seen the answer

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posthumous_marriage

Posthumous marriage (or necrogamy) is a marriage in which one of the participating members is deceased. It is legal in France and similar forms are practiced in Sudan [citation needed] and China. Since World War I, France has had hundreds of requests each year, of which many have been accepted.

www.theguardian.com/world/2009/nov/17/french-woman-marries-dead-partner

A French woman whose fiance asked her to marry him two days before he was killed in a car crash has been granted a posthumous white wedding in their village.

Under French law posthumous marriages are possible as long as evidence exists that the deceased person had the intention while alive of wedding their partner. According to Christophe Caput, the mayor who married Jaskiewicz, her request was 'rock solid'.

My neigbour some years ago who lost her husband in a car crash was asked by her sister as she lay dying of cancer to marry her husband which they did marry some 7 months after she died.
