Full Page Ads for gods sake!!

As someone who prints out The Grey Nomad Times to pass a hard copy around I totally object to full page advertisements....and for Discovery Parks for gosh sake!....not exactly the cheapest place to camp!!

Cannot you just set your printer to print pages 1 to 3 then 6 to 8 etc so it does not print pages 4 and 5? (presuming the adverts are on pages 4 and 5)

Good Luck.

I agree. Someone has to sponsor a free site !!!! You don't have to stay there ?

I'm thinking you are lucky to be able to print it out and hand out hard copies without affecting copyright.
The advertiser must be paying for you to afford this privilege.

I don't like ads on tv, radio, papers or anywhere but they have a purpose and on the nomads it affords us a free site. kind regards

Don't knock it. The advertising lets us in here for free. I agree the CPs are expensive, however we have two put up with adds everywhere damn it!!

I am sure there would be more people than some think that use caravan parks, I for one use caravan park often and happy to pay but still free camp when travelling to an area but if staying put for 2 or more days use basic caravan it our choice .

Sorry - did I miss something? Wasn't this post about "full page ads" in the Grey Nomad Times - when did it turn into being about caravan parks?

We are like brickies - we free or low cost camp when it suits and the place is reasonable (given its free or low cost), but we also use CPs. When we can we avoid the Big 4's and similar as we don't want to pay for the privilege of bouncy tramps, swimming pools and other facilities for kids. The small, privately owned ones are cheap and we try our hardest to support them by staying there - even when we could potentially free camp. We need to keep the reasonable quality, clean and reasonably priced small CPs alive for our future years

There is no such thing as a free lunch someone has to pay and in this case it's the advertisers that pay for cindys time to do the news letter and keep this site online and free I say good job Cindy love your work

I think Paul and Pam on tour did not know how the forum was funded and now we have let them know will now have a better under standing of how we get to enjoy this great forum , If anyone on this forum want to find out anything about this forum Cindy will always respond to anyones PM to her , So any time to have question of how the The Grey Nomads is run it would be better to PM Cindy .

Like Jules I'm amazed how this thread has gone and also that no one took up on my suggestion to simply set your printer up to only print pages of interest - this could solve Paul and Pam's problem (IMHO but I could be wrong).

Good Luck.
