Two would be, one for UHF and the second for a mobile phone maybe.

I have seen young blokes with utes here in down town Townsville driving around with heaps of antennas. I had a look in one just the other day and all I could see was one UHF radio. As I was looking the driver came up and asked what I was doing, so told him and with a chuckle said, "looks good that's all". He also had spotlights everywhere as well. Infact there were six lights above the cab on a roof rack. He made the same comment.

It reminded me of a day many moons back when a young whipper snapper. I was driving down the main street of Balranald NSW with a mate next to me and 12 pair of bunnies on the front bull bar and the sheriff pulled me over, took all the bunnies and told us to stop being smart Ar..s then sent us on our way.

Bunny stew that night for dinner, for him not us.

Interesting that one is for the Phone.

What model phone (can) use an external aerial, is it hard wired to the phone, and who is the Telco providing your service.

I as as I am looking to upgrade my phone.

Cheers, KB

Many phones have an aerial port on them. You use a patch lead like this one to connect the phone to the aerial lead. Click on the link to your phone manufacturer to see if there is a patch lead for you to connect with.

Thanks Peter. I checked the web-site and my Samsung Mini S4 does not accept an external aerial.

Many thanks for your response. KB

Hi, just rang the web site people asking can they help with my Galaxy 5 mobile phone there reply "bring it in and we maybe able to help" explaining that most phones are externally aerial friendly. Just a small matter of cost.

So next wee,k I be going for a drive down to there showroom in Eagle Farm, Brisbane.

Friend of mind got tired of my comments about receiving mobile phone calls on my Lo Tek Blue Tick Telstra phone (T100) when 30/40/50/60 Km out in the bush with a Broomstick aerial on top of the Cruiser/Caravan.

Anyway he pulled off the back of his Samsung Smart phone ( the one that does everything except make coffee) found 2 holes in the mother board, one turned out to be an aerial slot, so drilled a hole in the back plastic case so now according to him he will have Telstra remote coverage when connected to a broomstick aerial on his Patrol/caravan.

Pulled the cover off SWMBO's Samsung and there was what I believe is the aerial connection.
