Lets Plan a big get together

OK maybe this has been done before BUT...

I would like to volunteer to organize a "grey nomad forum" weekend or week. Place and time is up to us BUT one will need to get a handle on that asap.

Cindy, if you wish to come along and meet the bods on here that would be gold as well.

OK, discuss...

We are doing Perth, Broome, Darwin trip this time next year (2017) we will be at Alice Springs late September to mid August 2017. As we are mostly wandering around the place I cant think of a place more central than the Alice.

If we have enough starters I will contact the local RSL or footy clubs for booking a dinner or two.

Keep discussing..

Got my wife and me. If we all agree on Alice it's just about when. I can plan our trip around others so firm up the date and we'll be there

It will work PhilC. Just give them a date and a place and they will come.
That's how I organised the first Greens Lake get together. Then Beth and I did the same for Cobb and Co at Gympie. After that came Wuruma Dam which is still proving very popular and of course as we know so is Greens Lake.

G'day Phil. Sounds like a bloody good idea. I do hope that you are planning to be there from late August till mid September or it is going to be a long gathering (lol). If it is possible we would love to be there.

Cheers.

OK, this may not suit everyone but its a start.

Alice Springs (venue TBA) Thursday 24th August 2017 to Monday 28th August 2017.

I will ring around and see what deals I can broker for tours, dinners etc. We will be going to the rock after that so get your planners out and let me know.

It would be a good thing to have numbers well before the event for bookings etc so diarys out folks.

See you in Alice

Pete - (cadpete) - are you heading to Seabird this year? We won't be there, but next year we will be for sure! Don't think we will make the one in Alice though - heading west
hope all going - have a great time - Another thing PhilC - why don't you get in touch with the Showgrounds Secretary - even though it is closed for camping, they may allow a group get together - plenty of room there, and easy to find. Get togethers are better if all are parked up in the same place. Just a suggestion.

Hi Jules,

No, we are rogaining the a few weeks before so won't have the time.  Also still having problems getting the van into our narrow driveway - when we got back from Seabird last year I knocked the gatepost over! Need to fit reversing camera but funds too low at the moment.

I know that over Easter 2017, the showgrounds is open for the Mega Geocache Event, but that will be around 1000 campers I believe. (if it is anything like the one in Stanthorpe 2 years ago.
