Taurus Extenable Towing Mirrors

Hi All,

Today I finally got round to fitting my Taurus Extendable towing Mirrors. I watch the Clear Veiw U Tube how to install. It took me all of a hour to fit both to my 200 GX TTD. Power on and yes they are perfect.(Bloody Big ears)

Next I tried the folding in and out bit.nonono

I emailed The seller on E Bay and explained my Problem.

I got a Reply in less then 10 minutes.   A. Fold them outwards first away from the car, Then back in towards the car. I through I would break the bloody things off. Then they moved Yes. I did the same to the Right one. All good.

These mirrors will never blow back or Vibrate. The guy/Gal in their email reply said.  And I Quote: If you can break em, We will replace them no questions asked. How good is that. I'm very impressed.smilesmilesmilesmilesmile

I have no affiliation with them what so ever. Wagons Ho.

Hey Jim & Lambie

Jim. Is Taurus another name for the Clearview mirrors (which you mention in your U tube vid)?

We've had Clearviews on for 2 years now and towed through WA, SA, VIC and NSW and never had problems at all. No vibration, no mirror re-alignment problems that so many tow mirrors have. Best thing since sliced bread, I reckon.

I had them fitted by the ute Dealer when we bought it and it was $150 cheaper than the usual retail - go figure - and that included ARB fitting them along with other stuff while it was at the Dealer. They were supposed to be black, but ARB ****ed it up and ordered chrome. Dealer said try them for a couple of weeks and if you don't like them, we will order in black ones and swap them over. But the BOSS wanted chrome, so stuck with chrome. The only problem is they get chrome marks. If you have chrome ones (no, the mirrors !!), buy some chrome cleaner from Supa Cheap or Coles/Woolworths and gently rub over with a soft cloth every couple of months. They come up like new.

Hi Bruce & Bev,

Well then, We could do a comparison test over some Fush & Chups + a red or Twoooo Bottles that is. Mine are Black and picture by picture they look like they came off the same pallet.confuseconfuseconfuse With my driveway @ 2.9mtr wide  there's no room for error. ( haven't hit a thing in 30 years). I did find a flatted some thing many years ago. It looked like a BFG moggie.biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Ho dear, I just heard oil price up by 3.5% no How's the flake over your way.wink

Still Very Happy chappie.

Keep Warm, The Snow is coming again. Have to hook up the Wagon soon.

Jayco........Jayco.........why would that name mean anything to Jim hahaha !

We have rubbish fish over here just like you guys on the East Coast do. I used to fly into Melbourne and Sydney every 2 months from NZ on business and the seafood anywhere on the coast was always fresh (like caught the day before) and a reasonable price. Now days its bloody expensive and de-frosted from frozen and it all tastes like - well you know !

In Mandurah (that's WA about an hour or so south of Perth for those who don't know) we have to outstanding fish n chip places. One sells fresh fish - lots of northern fish off Ningaloo Reef. You pick it and they cook it along with the chips and other gourmet delights - but for 2 people theres no change from $60. The other doesn't sell fresh fish, but has a big range of very fresh fish and always very generous serves. We usually only get one piece of snapper and that does us both. You can get flake here and theres pressure on the State Govt to free up commercial shark fishing because of the attacks on surfers. Trouble is large shark is full of mercury and the nice ones like gummy shark are truly endangered (and eat shell fish, not humans)

Yer Dougwe,

Bruce & Bev would have broken out in a sweat, never seen or heard of here on the GN's.

Bruce is counting (I think) of myself. Of super fresh gold band snapper or better, for the BBQ. Never mind Bruce I should still have a few Mulies left over.

Mulies you say!!!! Yes Bruce, Mulies (left over Pillchards from my efforts for the BBQ)smile

Say Warm, Its back to Zero over here tomorrow.cry

Regards Jim & Lambie

Hi Peter,

Your point being What exactly.

Mine arrived in a big brown box ( Saying Toyota 200 series 2012 onwards.)  And I ordered them on a Sunday Night off E bay. Taurus by name only, and arrived the next afternoon at 3PM.The seller is based in Sydney.

I only used The Clear View U Tube  clip to get the removal trim process, as no instructions in the box. Someone else on here had used the same in the past. As for being the same try and tell them apart. Mine fit perfectly with all

connections 100%

Jim
