The Department of Parks and Wildlife is concerned about a spike in crocodile sightings in the waters around Broome, with a second animal being caught and removed from a popular swimming area.
Parks and Wildlife officer Peter Carstairs said there had been more than 30 crocodile sightings in the area in the last couple of months.
"We don't normally have this many sightings at this time of year. Last year we had a few, but nowhere near ... as many as this year," Mr Carstairs said.
It's not known exactly where they've come from ... it may be the water temperature cooling, which is drawing them out of the creeks, or there may be a dominant croc that's kicking them out of the creeks, so it's a bit hard to say at this stage."
Watch out People if swimming around Broome !!!

From Coast to Coast, We'll see it all.......One Day
There has always been croc activity around Broome (and south at least as far as Onslo, maybe further).
We met a copper who had personally shot 4 on Cable Beach, but they don't want tourists to know that because it is bad for business.
I guess they now think that the risk is serious.
Ningaloo reef has had (2) in the last few years One @ 3 metres in 2013. We saw the remains of one in June 2010 walking along the beach north of the lighthouse at Exmouth. The smell was horrific.

One of the first things you learn in croc country is not to turn your back to the water
