The southern end of the WA town of Yarloop, which was devastated by fire in January, will be re-opened to the public next week, with the whole town expected to be accessible by the beginning of August.
Two people died and 181 homes and businesses were destroyed in the blaze.

went through the town and fire affected area about 3 weeks ago and it was amazing how the trees and grass has recovered so quickly due to the rain that came not too long after the fire and over the winter.
Lets hope people will move back - at the time many said they wouldn't.

Family friends that retired 30 years ago, built on a block they had bought after cyclone Tracey with the plan that this would be their forever home. 15 acres of heaven is what they called it, 15 acres of ash was left after the fire, they wont rebuild, they cant even go back for a look at what's left, it would break them after being the family home for so long.
When I asked what next they said retirement village in Mandurah was the next option, if they get enough out of the insurance & land sale.
