I see that Woolworths are still playing "Silly Buggers" here in the West with their Fuel prices,
A few days back "Fuel Watch" put out a notice of a 29cpl jump in the price of ULP, so I did some checking on our local Fuel Station, Finding they were already charging top Dollar at $ 1.29 Cpl I then looked at another Woolworth's Station a couple of KM's away and found they were charging $ 1.21 Cpl.
The next day when the price jump was to take place, I saw that the same station were going to charge $ 1.11 Cpl,
So being very low on petrol in the car and knowing that this price couldn't last, being Woolworths, I filled the car to max capacity , using a fuel docket at the same time I got the lot for $ 1.07 Cpl
Sure enough the next morning their price had jumped to $ 1.29 Cpl, a little while ago they were doing the opposite, they would pick a station and jack up that stations price by 30 Cpl for one day, then the next day they would bring that price back to normal.
How could this benefit them , makes me wonder, they would only catch the unsuspecting motorist who filled the car before checking the price !!
All I can say is that for once I managed to beat them at their own game, I saved more than $13.00 on the fuel I purchased.

Not just Woolies KJ, they are all bad. Here in Townsville and the suburbs, Diesel is around $1.25.9 lt at the big names but I found 2 servos of another flavour just a 10 minute drive away, still a suburb of Townsville that are $1.16.9 lt. I will do the 10 minute drive.

I've just done another check on tomorrow's Diesel prices for Perth's Metro area, They vary greatly from $ 112.9 to $ 129.9
It sure pays to check Fuel Watch, especially if you want to buy a heap of fuel, the prices quoted are with-out using a shopper docket.
For a while here, it was cheaper too buy fuel in the country, not any longer, the cheapest country price listed is now $ 113.9.
The fuel graph for diesel shows a steady climb each day ......

I was in Airlie Beach NTH QLD coast early this week and Diesel was 125.9lt at all servos. I had half a tank but noticed one servo that must be related to the the Statue of Liberty on the way out of AB was only 1.09.9lt. I filled up. Funny thing was that 2 big names were within a km away.
What happened to the good old days when we could put a tiger in our tanks or run the car on bee pee

One word of caution ... I understand that the reason the fuel from Liberty servos is cheaper is because they are either high ethanol or bio-diesel.
Always check their content and what your vehicle needs ... eg my Landrover cannot use E10 or bio-diesel as Landrover state it may damage the engine - but E5 is OK.
Just a thought ... don't trust my information - just check before you use Liberty and other 'no-name' brands.

Remember when the 2 supermarkets started doing the shopper dockets a few years back and we were warned by outfits like Choice that once the two of them had a stranglehold on the fuel market they would up the prices and lower the docket discounts..........
Looks like they were right.
Oil prices go up and down on the world markets but overall they seem to be pretty level with what they have been for most of this year. The Aussie $ hasn't gone down much, but the fuel prices have sky rocketed.
I guess if Aldi are screwing your business, then you find your profits elsewhere.
It was interesting to read the last financial reports of W & O.
Woolworths are not only getting slaughtered in food, but also their hospitality (hotels/restaurants - which they own 100s of across the country and their liquor outlets) are not meeting budget. It must have been the ultimate humiliation for W to have to sell off their H/O (in Woolworths Place) to a Chinese consortium because they needed cash flow.

The amazing things you see when nomading Australia
In Toowoomba of late we've had 4 ( 7 to 11, United, Freedom I think) or more brand new independents open up and match or better the supermarkets with their 4c off 0ffer when you buy over 40 litres. I do wonder sometimes if they actually are independently owned and not part of larger chains
