The Macquarie Marshes are best seen from the air, there's just a lookout which gives people a glimpse of this vast mostly in-accessible area. In times of good rains the retreat can be cut off by water. When there's water in the marshes the birdlife is fantastic. There's a lovely much smaller easily accessed wetland called Tiger Bay Wetlands adjacent to Warren south of the marshes. Here's a link to a trip report that we posted on another forum. http://www.feathersandphotos.com.au/forum/showthread.php?37810-Tiger-Bay-Nature-Reserve-amp-Wetlands-Warren-NSW-September-2015 When things are dry in the marshes there's NOTHING of interest to see at all.
