Nerriga causeway crossing

Hi All, I'm heading across from Nowra to Goulburn through Nerriga with my 24' van in tow. I have done it a few times in my Pajero without the van but my memory recalls a causeway that is fairly steep on the western side of the pub and I am concerned about bottoming out the rear of the van as my tug starts the incline. Anybody been through there successfully with a large van that isn't an off roader ? Cheers

Hi, Welcome to the site.

I can't comment on the Nerriga crossing, but last year, we went over the range at both Macquarie Pass and over Mt Keira from Wollongong.

After doing both drives with 4wd only, decided best to go over Mt Keira and towards Wingello State Forest. We have a Nissan 4.2 litre Patrol, towing a 3.t 21ft Kedron. Had no issues on the route we chose. I dont' know what the B73 from Nowra towards Mittagong is like but that could be another option for you.

Unless you have one of the very long European style I reckon you would be OK.There are plenty of big rigs go through there without drama.

I was referring to the pic at the bottom of Copper1's comment wilkopj. Click on the thumbnail at the bottom of his post.

biggrinbiggrin Maybe you need to visit Specsaversbiggrinbiggrin  I often do the same thing, misread things or don't read my things before I post them. It's all Uncle Al's fault.

The grey water comment was due to, it has been discussed on the open forum many many times with mixed results.

Keep Safe on the roads.

I think you may be confusing Oallen Ford with the creek crossing closer to Nerriga. Nice new bridge has replace the low level crossing at Oallen.

PeterD yes you are right but the causeway just down from the pub is not a problem as well. Dougwe I will blame C2 for the grey water ingression.
