Nothing new in that IMO.

Out here in the bush number plates get pretty dusty behind clear covers quite a lot. I just clean mine before rego anyway...as it becomes "an obscured licence plate" penalty .

I must admit tho ....my rego checker bloke is good about it ...he just says to clean it when I get home and hands me the pinkslip with one hand and $xxxx please with the other.

The Gold lettering on the red background up here in Q are undetectable by red light cameras!!

 How does this work with the number plate recognition cameras in police cars in Queensland - would it not flag an unregistered vehicle?
