Hey Jim. Ignoring the sarcastic comments of a few here, I agree with Hylife.
The nature strip from your boundary peg out to the road belongs to the local council or shire. Most require that driveways/crossovers be made to a minimum standard (materials, thickness and quality) and most pay you a small standard refund for this work - usually no where near the actual cost especially if you use a Tradie.
Despite this, you are required to maintain this nature strip and keep in in "good order" - which is usually mowing the grass/weeds, racking out the sand (if youre in WA) or planting it.
It is a by-law offence, but most councils will issue and infringement notice to any vehicle parked over a driveway or on the nature strip.
In your case, the local Ranger may well have ignored your terrible crimes in the past (lol), but maybe someone else in the street has been complaining of vehicles parking over their driveway and so hes been instructed to "ticket" all offending vehicles in your street......
I suggest a pleasant letter to the council advising you had only parked over the driveway into your property for a little while, as you were moving other vehicles further up your driveway so you could park the offending vehicle off the roadway in your property. And that you will ensure this doesn't happen again. That way you may not loose potential red and fish and chips money :)

Money hungry bludgers. The Council up our way have instructed their parking robots to place as many infringements as possible (neighbour is one). We can do without three tiers of boffins and I believe Local Govt should be first to go. Our business has a bit to do with Councils and when you go into their HO many are on facebook while others on RDO's or flexi days. They are BLUDGERS to the extreme.
Write a letter to the Mayor mate. I am with you all the way.
I know this is off thread but I certainly hope that Cessna is only a model that you have as your avitar
We have emailed our councillor's individually tonight. Wait and see their replies soon. $106 We even support our local Rotary club and Kids of the street campaign. Fair dinkum. Give a bloke a break.
Are there, we have one reply. It will be raised at the next council meeting. And if we could attend this meeting. You bet I will and join them, for light supper afterwards.
Good ruck...er..luck Jim....there must be some moral high ground there somewhere, and I don't mean your footpath... on which to base your case!....let us know how you go mate..... DMaxer, should he represent you, could likely get your sentence halved....from execution with 22,000volts reduced to 11,000 volts ..lmao........Hoo Roo

Lawyers have an obligation to the court that takes precedence over any obligation to a client, Goldfinger. That obligation includes not bringing or appearing in matters that have little or no merit.
Does that explain why I would not be there or do I need to simplify it further for you?
Mmmmm. I have kept out of this as I risked getting shot in the foot and will risk that even now however.....
.....I was in management level of local government for 25+ years and Jim, mate, they need to book people for your offence to help pay for the "light supper" you will partake in.
I might also add that I attended most council meetings and very rarely did I come across a member of the community being "invited" to attend the chamber of a council meeting for what you are attending for. Normally that is all done by correspondence. I am not saying you were not invited though as things might have changed since I left due to getting too political and back stabbing for me, many moons ago now.
Jim mate, enjoy your rates (and fines) paying for that "light supper". I'm sure you will enjoy the gourmet sangas.
Happy travels and keep safe.
