Free camp in Rockhampton Qld

Hi, does anyone know of a free camp in Rockhampton Qld, also heard that the free camp at the northern side of the Calloipe river near Gladstone has been closed to over night stays and is now only a day camp, is this true, any info on both would be appricated.

cheers

Jackie

Calliope is still open. A friend stayed there only a week or so ago. Can't help with Rockhampton. There is one there but someone else might know the details.

There is or there was a free camp for I think 72 hours in Rockhampton just opposite the Stockland Shopping Centre in North Rockhampton. Try and google.

It was closed for quite some time after Cyclone Marcia hit the area last year, but I believe it has been open again for a little while now.  Will be going in to Rocky tomorrow, so will try and remember to check it out, and update you tomorrow night.

Cheers,

Sheba.

The free park is open again and quite popular. Plenty of room self contained only. It's a short walk to the shoping center.

Kershaw Gardens just off the hiway.

Hope this helps

Hi Alan,

thanks for the info, does self contained mean no grey water, if so does using portable water containers OK, if sealed.

cheers
