Go on line to Spirit of Tasmania, get a quote for your vehicle length and the time of year you need to travel.  Fares depend on size of vehicle and the time you are travelling and, your choice of accommodation on the ship.

Don't forget to book your return travel.

Gday...

I reckon you will get a surprise when you find out the price for that rig cry I know, from my perspective, the cost of my Discovery and 23ft van are prohibitive .. but I'm a tightwad

Anyway, you can find out all the prices/times etc from this site. Put in your dates and info etc and then rearrange/reorganise your details and see if you an figure out various prices etc.

Cheers - and good luck - John

Just checked for ourselves. Mazda BT50 with roof rack, towing a Kimberley Kruiser (7.3m), one way $842.
That was a theoretical trip early next year. I'm told it is very important to book early.
Cheers,
Bob

$1640 off peak for 13m and inside cab for two. Add $150m over that return in June July this year. The price for your van doesn't change but people and your accommodation does. Book early for both ways, you can always change later. A lot of people are stuck in Tassie at the moment because they didn't book a return trip

Hi Chris, thanks for your input I to this, it's been great to get all the comments. I kind of figured it would not cheap, but glad to know about the booking early bit, as just thought you could ring about 3 weeks in advance...

Happy travels mate, and would be good to hear about your trip when over there and places you managed to get to...

Oh to be so lucky. My one way to the Mainland last month with 22 foot van was $3800. Not much change out of $4000. Cheers Allen

How long are you Footprints and how many people and what sort of cab did you have. We always book an inside cabin, not much point having a porthole in the middle of Bass Strait during the night.

Hi Branchie (Kevin), just follow my blog at the bottom of post, I try to keep it up to date, when I have internet

Hi Branchie, we are considering going to Tassie again in Dec this year returning Feb next. For our 30' converted bus and 20' trailer, and us for day sailing its about $2,000 return.
