Let me get this straight..... you want some one you have never met to share a double bed with you for 4 weeks and you don't care what sex they are and you'll pay?
only have to share expenses once there. Trip already paid for.
21ft van, double bed, ensuite.
Hi Alrojale,
My mother inlaw has always wanted to visit Tassie. I'll pass it on to her. Is it ok if you could fit her Zimmer walker in. She does have a problem's with Incontinence????
I don't see a problem....sounds like a proposition to me....and if you're not compatible you can both put your clothes on and go back home...men are simple creatures..why do Ladies have to complicate straight forward arrangements....?...my only requirements would be: 1. a photo of the Van....and....2. Does he trim his toe nails....?
Jim...I always told my wife I liked her mother in Law a whole lot more than I liked mine....she always seemed content with that......baffle them with science...Hoo Roo

she's young at heart, 89 years young.
Ha Ha! Love it.
In fact I found all of the replies so far hilarious .. even Dorian's Emphasis comment.
This is one thread that I will continue to monitor.

I am a 45 yo female divorced, if you can't read this post with out being a dick head about , then you are a bunch of sick puppies.
My husband gave me the tug and the van, enjoy your stupid lives , dickheads.
Gday...
Firstly, welcome to the forum "Alan".
Unsurprisingly, a response to requests for information etc from a new poster/member is usually formed from the information provided in the request for advice/assistance/information etc.
I feel the responses/comments would have been very much different if the information you added (in blue above) had been in the original post. This would have quite probably negated your need to question the 'attitude' of those who responded in the way they did.
Additionally, given 'your' profile states the 'member' is male -
.... female members are not likely to 'leap' forward to offer to 'share' with a completely unknown, new member.
Conversely, male members may not find the prospect of sharing a double bed with another (completely unknown) male the sort of 'sharing' holiday/break they would enjoy.
Which ever way ... perhaps you could re-think how you word your search for a travelling companion .. and provide some further details to allay any fears/concerns potential responders may have.
Perhaps, the sort of travelling companion you seek is here ... just not game to respond to skimpy, even doubtful, information.
Cheers - John

Dear Alrojale,
I am totally offended by your remakes AS to been a bunch of Sick Puppies.
I offered this Suggestion this morning to Mona, my much loved mother inlaw. She thought this was a sincerer genuine offer of a wonderful holiday in Tassie.
All her expensies would have been meet by ourselves /Myself, Just to have some Respite from her continual demands on us, morning, noon, and night.
Four weeks break to us, would be like Winning LOTTO. We could have gone to Bali/ UK/ Ireland and had a Wow of a time.
Why bother asking on here if you were not genuine in the first place.
All we are going to here now, for weeks on end. Why not me, What's wrong with Me. I need another cup of tea.
Jim

Reminds me of the old Queensland joke that has a punch line of " please send photo of boat and motor" in this case it could be "please send photo of van & tug".
In my younger days I drove from Sydney to Brisbane and picked up a hitchhiker along the way. He shared the driving. I wouldn't do the same today, though. In fact it was not uncommon for people to advertise in the newspaper for travelling companions in the same way that the OP has done. As for hitchhikers, I haven't seen one in decades. It may be because cars are a lot cheaper these days, but I doubt that's the reason.
When I was working in Asia, a stranger asked me for help. Being young and naive, I obliged him, but then found myself caught up in a scam which almost resulted in my death. I lived in fear for several years afterwards.

I have just read the original post and the comments so far and I would sincerely like to thank the O.P. for the best laugh I've had from this forum in a very long time.
Thank you thank you for halting if only temporarily the grizelling drivel about jayco.
