just spent an enjoyable three days in Ilfacombe and Longreach ...
Walked the historical machinery mile at Ilfracombe .... interesting collection of machines and transport. Stayed at Ilfacome Caravan Park ... Kathy is a great host, the Happy Hour was fun.
We visited both QANTAS Museum and the Stockman's Hall of Fame ... found both to be very interesting and informative. Shame QANTAS wish to charge additional for tour through their 747 and 707 ..... didn't partake ...
Stockmans Hall of Fame was great ..... pleasant helpful staff, great exhibits - both static and interactive..
Best evening for a hellova long time was spent with "Drover's Sunset and Dinner Tour .... as part of a $129 ea three attractions package ... this was definite value for money .. a boat cruise on MV Explorer on the Thompson River (Waterhole), capped off with a brilliant sunset over the river, and to top it all off ... a GR8 dinner whilst being entertained by John Hawker ... a talkative, singing Stockman/drover. Would recommend this to everyone if in Longreach.

There are so many attractions out there but unfortunately financially out of reach of most of us, liked the Hall of Fame but thought it was targeting overseas tourists, which I guess is fair enough as they spend their money.
LoveLongreach - dad the sunset drovers camp boat at sunset - fantastic! Also I rode shotgun on one of the Cobb& co coaches, great fun especially when they give the horses their heads! Well worth the $$.
