I just attach the phone to laptop via the charge cable, then open up pics on the phone. A window will pop up asking if you want to download pics, click yes.
From there I name the folder the days date then open that up and move pics to where I want them.
To post on the forum I just reduce the file size of the pic after make a copy and working with that only and post away. By making the copy, the original stays intact.
If I want the pics on my iPad I just email to myself and open on the iPad as I can't take pics from phone direct to Ipad.
I find it all works for me.
I hope that is of some help to you.
Edit.....A problem posting reply, sorry.

Many web sites (forums) do not allow you to upload pics at all. The cost of storage can be a major concern for non-profit web sites. What you have to do for such sites is to post the URL (web address) of the pic. (URL = Uniform Resource Locator)
This means that the pic must be hosted on a web site somewhere else on the Internet.
There are a number of free such services mostly sponsored by annoying advertisements of which you have no control and many of those adverts can be porn related. In addition, many of the free hosting sites do not allow you to insert a picture's URL, only a link to the page where the picture can be displayed along with those annoying adverts.
Google offer free web hosting without restrictions or adverts, for pictures called Picasaweb. https://picasaweb.google.com One creates a free account with Google and then there are a whole lot of free services on offer including a couple of Gigabyte of picture hosting. You upload your pics to google and then you can choose what and with whom you share pics on Picasaweb. Great for sharing holiday snaps with family and friends and it becomes an on-line backup as well in case disaster strikes that personal storage device.
When you right-click (windows) a picture on a web site you get a menu and can choose properties. The properties shown includes the URL, which on this forum can be copied and pasted into the field shown when you click the "Insert/Edit Image" icon (little green tree), when you are creating a post.

That's all very interesting, but doesn't help the OP uploading pics to this site with his Android Phone...

Just saying 03_troopy, a point that you seemed to miss, is that if you upload to an independent 3rd party host you don't have to worry about uploading to THIS SITE.
Surely being able to share your pics at original hi-res, to as many sites as you need and to provide access to family and friends, with just one web based upload has got to make much more sense.
That GN still allows pic uploads is quite unusual. Not only does data storage cost big $$ but so does bandwidth. If you only link your pics (the URL) you will help to reduce this forums' costs, and everyone gets the full hi-res image.
One other advantage of offsite storage is that one doesn't need to be logged in to see certain content. For example, the following attachment is only accessible when logged in to the GN forum (aBID = 51933):

Just saying, Hylife, a point you seem to miss, the OP is still trying to workout how to upload pics from his phone. I dare say that would include to any site.
