have just purchased a second hand pop top, one of the Zips in the pop top skirt is jammed closed, we have tried WD40, pliers, brute force but it will not budge . . . Anyone had any success unzipping a jammed pop top zip?
The jacket I used to wear fishing had the same problem - I sprayed with silicon and had to work it a bit -
My old pop top sometimes had a similar problem sometimes - from memory I did not raise tthe roof to the full extent so the canvas was not too tight and worked the zip with silicon spray etc.
The little lever on top of the zip will break iff you put too much pressure on it, but if you need to exert a bit more force to get the thing moving grab the body of the thing with a set of multi grips, and see iff you can gently coax a bit of moment. it may give you the edge you need, but be carefully you don't over do it just apply enough pressure not to damage it...
Agree with Jim i have been using Lanolyn spray for years and it is a great protector and lubricant especially for things that have been near the ocean, I also spray it on my van tow coupling and where the torsion bars lock in.

After decades of jammed zips of all types I have come to the conclusion that only boiling water can free a really stuck zip? You need to figure a way to immerse it in boiling after for about 5 minutes. I use large flat Tupperware dishes.
Thanks all for your advice. Caravan is in storage again for a few weeks. I will buy some Lanotect and try that when we get it out in a few weeks.
The trouble is both ends of the zip are stuck at the curve at the side of the top, no fabric is caught, no wobble room, and don't want to break zip. We did put a screw driver between the pullers and they did not move at all

Tried Lanotec and more brute force, one side of zip moved about one centimetre. still unable to open zip any more than that, but thanks for previous advice.
