free/cheap camping in myall lakes area

Hi all . This is my first listing on this forum so please be kind. I am new to caravaning as my handle implies and am keen to explore any sites within 2 hour from lake macquarie. We are reasonably self contained so non power is not a problem. All suggestions greatfully received.

thanks,

michael

Gday...

Firstly welcome to the forum Michael.

Welcome 02.jpg

Sometimes, for new-comers, the forum is a little puzzling. I think it would attract more attention in the General sub-forum.

I have placed a link in there for you so others can see, and hopefully give some advice to help.

While others give their experience - this link may give some assistance.

Thanks John
I am not all that savy with forums or computers in general. we are offto a place called Myal river camp about 4 klm north of hawks nest.
we have been there before and liked it so much we are going back with some friends this week end. big area on the river it is a private property open to all. Has a small toilet block no showers and has garbage and a dump point , no power. $25 a night. hope this is usefull to others or yourself if you have'nt been there before it is worth a look. No pets or 2 stroke genies. they have a web site.
Thanks again for your info and support

Hi there and welcome. Agree about the River Camp a good spot but at $25 per night is getting expensive for what they provide. We visited a couple of years ago and it was only $15. But still is better value than offered by National Parks nearby.

So what do they offer for the extra $8.50? Remember if you are not a senior you have to pay an entry fee to go further up the road so don't mention that in any replies.
