Hi Rainy. You may be lucky and get an RV with no faults at all, or be like most of us and have either a few initial issues, or on-going problems.
Unfortunately, the Dealer wont give you the vehicle until they have all their money.
Its strongly recommended you take your RV away for a few days and give it a good driving test and also try out all its facilities - have paper and pen to write down any faults and then back to the Dealer for repairs.
Remember, they may tell you the warranty is only 12 months, but there is an "implied" warranty under the consumer protection laws and depending on what the problem is, the warranty may extend for 5-6 years or more. They are required by law to repair or replace such faults or your state protection dept will likely prosecute them and they will be forced to fix.
But fingers crossed, all will be good for you :)
Iana - good to hear all has gone with the repairs and that no more pop up

Re: Your S Bend for you sink. You should have Hypo Valves X 2 fitted. The S bend is a thing of the past.
What did they/ You do to get them to change the compliance Plate. I want the same deal.
Ours will be ready to collect tomorrow afternoon. Fingers XXXXXX
Jim
Re the Hypo valve, it was slow to drain, I haven't tried it yet, the service guy said it worked like a "Whoopee" cushion. My wife says it is still quite slow to drain.
The sales guy who we dealt with when buying the van chased up the new compliance plate. As you know it didn't happen over night, so some extra disscussions were happening at Jayco on this matter, and I have it, that all new vans will come with the ball weights stamped "Non Applicable". I suggest you have a "Friendly' chat with your sales agent on this.
Don't forget, I still am in the process of re-locating the water tank and grey water tank, as well as needing to do a bit of re-routing of external wiring looms, not covered under warranty.
I think all the RV outlets tend to drain slower than you would expect, even when only running a small amount of water directly down the plugs, as opposed to having the sink full and taking out the drain plug. And given the same amount of water being flushed through and with no sullage pipes attached, it would suggest the hypo valves are responsible - better than not having them.
Rainy I agree with Jade (I misunderstood ianas original msg about inspection before paying) about taking your time when you go to pick up your RV. Most dealers will tell you you have 1 hour or whatever and they will show you how to use the various parts (like the 12v water pump and fridge, for example). They do not allow you specific time to actually inspect the vehicle.
Remember youre the buyer and youre in charge. If they book you in for a certain time for "hand-over", tell them you will be there an hour or so earlier so you can have a look over the RV. Unfortunately most of the potential problem things and areas are hidden and not accessible to such inspection - but you will obviously pick up any obvious issues

Thanks for this. I have made notes of things to look for. I am getting a bank cheque for remainder but will not hand over till hubby happy. Hopefully, most will be okay as anniversary 28th and so need a break and today got a new little granddaughter so can now go away for a little bit.
The truth is rainy1850, the excitement of the occasion, the newness, the glitter and all the information on all the gadgets and equipment that you have to absorb, you really won't see these things until you have the van at home and you have settled down a bit. I know I had more time over a week to check out our van, and in that time I did not really go over it with a fine tooth comb. You see what you want to see, and the gremlins emerge a week or so later. Just enjoy the journey!
